Then I'd move the file to another directory where I can keep a number of days worth for security purposes. I'm thinking of running a cron job right after the hourly upload to copy an image to wunderground and to a specified file name that my web page picks up on my own site. Apparently the DLink cam I ordered, names each file differently with a time stamp but supposedly will upload them to an ftp server. The secret will be how to deal with files of different names. If I can get an IP cam to upload stills to my ftp server, then I can get them copied to where I want. I haven't been able to find out much on the net. It all boils down to the fact that I can't figure the details out until I have the hardware and instructions in my hands. I want to upload an hourly picture to my astronomy website AND also do the wunderground option. It looks like I might have to bring a PC into play but perhaps not. I'm trying to figure out how to put a webcam in the mix. I've also just ordered an Oregon Scientific wireless IP station. this is just something I thought I'd share.
